Student Life at The New School

Where learning feels alive—and children feel seen.

Many families come to us because their child has lost the spark—too much pressure, too little meaning, and not enough care.

At The NEW School, student life is different.

It’s hands-on, relationship-driven, faith-rooted, and full of real experiences that shape confident, capable kids.

Hands-On Learning
(Monthly Workshops + Experts)

Students learn directly from specialists, tradespeople, and mentors through monthly workshops that bring real-world skills into the school.

Past workshops have included:

woodworking, herbal medicine, soap-making, microgreens, gardening, pickling, water systems, conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, and more.

We also introduce students to modern skill-building opportunities like:

robotics, music, entrepreneurship, creative projects, and STEM-based learning—always taught in a way that feels meaningful, not forced.

The result: children don’t just memorize—they build, create, test, try again, and grow.

Small Group Classes
(8–12 Students)

With small class sizes, your child gets what many schools can’t provide:

attention, belonging, and personalized learning.

We meet students where they are academically and emotionally—helping them strengthen skills, build confidence, and develop resilience.

And because relationship comes first, our classrooms are known for:

  • warm teacher-student connections
  • a calm, supportive environment
  • joyful, emotionally safe learning
  • children who feel truly known

Families often describe us as a “big family” school—and yes, hugs and genuine care are part of everyday life.

NEW Experiences
(Real-World Adventures Every Month)

We believe children learn best when they’re immersed in the world.

Our students experience a rich calendar of outings and community experiences such as:

farm visits, museums, libraries, historical site tours, studios with local artists, orchestra and ballet performances, horseback riding, skating, tennis, soccer, fishing, cooking experiences, and more.

We also host student community moments that make school feel like home:

monthly socials, teen nights, celebrations, and shared experiences that build friendships and belonging.

The result: kids develop adaptability, confidence, leadership, and joy—because they’ve actually lived what they’re learning.

Why This Matters

Most schools focus on outcomes.

We focus on growth, character, mastery, and meaning.

Your child receives:

  • strong academics
  • real-world skills
  • faith and character formation
  • emotional intelligence support
  • unforgettable experiences
  • a small, nurturing community

"You cannot teach the mind until you have the heart. Connect before you direct.''

Invigorating Experiences with The New School

The NEW School experienced the Shen Yun performance on April 5th, 2023 and were featured in the Epoch Times. Here’s what our founder said about the performance, Shen Yun Reminds People ‘There’s a Renaissance Coming After All This Destruction’

Angela Sena, founder and creative director of the “The New Earth Wonder School,” was uplifted by what she saw at Shen Yun Performing Arts.

“The scenes were colorful, lively, full of life,” said Mrs. Sena after watching Shen Yun
at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts on April 5.

“[It’s] a beautiful piece of art,” she said.

According to the company’s website, the presented heroes in the dance stories embody the most exalted virtues of Chinese civilization and convey morals still relevant today.

Mrs. Sena said her 7-year-old son attended the performance and was “captivated the entire time.”

She was happy schoolchildren were watching Shen Yun and that the traditional values conveyed throughout the performance were “what’s being programmed into their brains.”
