About Us

Vision and Mission

Where Genius is Uncovered and Freedom is Formed

At The NEW School, we believe education should form the whole child — socially, academically, emotionally, physically, and spiritually — and awaken within them the confidence, character, and clarity to live lives of absolute freedom.

We are not bound to an archaic system that rewards compliance over creativity. Instead, we build an education rooted in truth and designed for real life — where learning is meaningful, motivation is intrinsic, and every child is seen as carrying innate genius waiting to be revealed.

Our mission is to help build a strong generation of youth who will become self-starting leaders who understand their divine purpose, and who are champions of absolute Freedom

Empowering Lifelong Learners

What Makes The NEW School Different

At The NEW School, students don’t just learn information — they learn how to live.

Our approach intentionally develops:

Intrinsic Motivation

Children learn because they want to, not because they’re pressured to perform.

Real-Life Skills

Critical thinking, communication, leadership, creativity, stewardship, and emotional intelligence.

Creative Genius

We draw out the unique gifts in every child, building confidence and courageous self-expression.

Whole-Child Balance

Learning, play, movement, exploration, and imagination are given equal importance.

Spiritual Formation

Truth, character, and purpose are nurtured through Christ-centered education.

Learning as a Way of Life

School and home work together in a shared rhythm of growth, meaning, and belonging.

Our Four Pillars

Rooted in Balance

We design each day with an intentional rhythm of learning, nature, movement, play, and creativity — because a balanced child becomes a thriving adult.

Growth Mindset

We teach children to embrace challenge, learn from mistakes, and grow through perseverance — building confidence, resilience, and self-leadership.

Experience Sustainability

Situated along the Humber River, students learn through nature, stewardship, and conscious living — in an environment that prioritizes health, beauty, and low-tox learning.

Christ-Centered Education

We cultivate a love for truth, because the pursuit of truth ultimately leads to God — shaping students who live with wisdom, purpose, and moral clarity.

Our Vision

To raise grounded, capable, and spiritually anchored young people — prepared for the real world, equipped with real skills, and free to live boldly in the fullness of who they were created to be.

Meet the Founder & Visionary

Angela Anna Maria Sena is the original spark behind The NEW School—a bold and beautiful re-imagining of what education can be. As Founder and Visionary Director, Angela’s mission is to transform the educational landscape by creating a child-focused environment where learning is deeply relevant, intentionally designed, and rooted in joy, purpose, and freedom.

A mother of two—now 10 and 7—Angela brings over 20 years of educational experience, including more than 15 years in the public education system and over 2 years teaching internationally. In 2020, as families grappled with rigid mandates and impersonal schooling, she spent a transformative year connecting families and educators with freedom-oriented, heart-led learning solutions. From this passion, The NEW School was born in autumn 2021.

Today, Angela is paving the way across Ontario, leading one of the province’s most dynamic Freedom Schools. The NEW School is proudly a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program, preparing students for global citizenship with integrity, faith, and innovation. Angela is also an upcoming published author in the Sovereign Education Series, a growing movement of educational leaders advocating for truth, sovereignty, and transformative learning.

Her energy for change is raw. Her creative fire is contagious. Angela is guiding a generation of parents and children to rise—into freedom, into excellence, into a radically better way to live.
